A number of
shady camp sites along Surprise Creek providing a level but somewhat predictably dusty
camp area. The only facility is a single composting
toilet at the camping ground, but when you gotta go, it's better than digging a hole in the ground!
The
campsite is within
Bladensburg National Park, so the usual rules and camping fees apply - $5.45 (April 2013) per person per night payable at the self-registration hut before one sets up
camp. Campsites are designated by logs, but are large enough for self-sufficient caravans and camper trailers. Large rigs may have some difficulty manoeuvring.
No fires are permitted.
