Information

This is the wettest area of Australia, with over 4 metres of rainfall recorded every year. This area is a playground for white water rafters and at the end of the road at the top of the gorge is the Kareeya Hydroelectric Station. Access the gorge is only possible via Tully township. A 40-minute scenic drive enables visitors to catch glimpses of the Tully River and stop at the day use area, or stay at the camping area where there is a butterfly information walk and raft viewing platforms (the best times are between 11am and 1pm).
