Burke and Wills camped here on 2/2/1861. The Expedition party were experiencing a creek that had many bends as it zig zaged its way north. Instead of following the creek bed they took over land when they saw the creek took a bend. As a result even though the distance traveled was less it was difficult land to travel and they only made 18
miles that day. In the morning Wills noted again that they now had lost a further two knives.
